My concentration has really affected the way I do art. "The unwanted beauty of human nature" is the concentration I chose. I feel like following this theme has allowed me to create my art with a purpose. I like to go against social standards. I like to show people the gross side of humans, and make it beautiful. I believe every part of the human body is beautiful and I'm proud to be able to show that in my art.
My breadth was really enjoyable to do. During my free time I would make small pieces in my sketchbook and that helped me create unique pieces, even though they didn't fit into my concentration. I took extra art classes this year to help me make more breadth pieces, and to improve as an artist. I really feel like these pieces I've created show my progression as an artist. I feel I am strong with my values and colors. I use color to express the emotion and the values to emphasize my piece. I am lacking in skill with composition, but I am determined to keep practicing until I am a better artist.
When I first entered high school, I didn't really know what I wanted to be. I knew it was something art related, but I never thought I could get a career by just doing art. First semester of my freshmen year I took art I with Mr. Sands. After his class I realized how much I wanted to be an art teacher. Taking AP art has helped me be sure about my life plans. I'm always changing ideas and changing who I think I want to be. After taking this class I now am sure of my future. Art is such an important factor in my life and every day I've been inspired by the peers around me to become not only a better artist, but a better person too. This class has really improved my life. I've learned so much and I cannot explain how happy I am to have been apart of this class. Thank you Mrs. Rossi and everybody else who has taught me to become a better artist.
